Dental marketing for independent Ontario clinics.
Good dental marketing is not louder advertising. It is removing every reason a new patient has not to book with you: a thin Google profile, a website that hides your hours, no way to book at 10 pm, or wording the RCDSO would question. We fix those, in that order, for independent clinics in Toronto and across Ontario.

Think recall, not whitening.
Dental marketing is everything that helps nearby patients find your clinic, trust it and book: your Google Business Profile and reviews, your website and online booking, the pages that rank for treatments, the facts AI assistants repeat about you, and the reminders that bring existing patients back.
The clinics that grow steadily treat marketing like hygiene recall: small, regular work that compounds. Clinics that treat it like a one-off whitening campaign get a spike, then silence. In Ontario there is one more rule: every word has to fit the RCDSO’s advertising guidance, which rules out many tactics agencies use elsewhere.
We read 3,916 independent Ontario clinic websites.
Chart your clinic the way you chart a patient.
Run these six checks once a quarter. Anything marked “watch” or “treat” is where your next month of marketing should go.
| Check | Healthy | Watch | Treat |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Google profile | Every service, hours incl. holidays, 20+ recent photos, booking link | Basic details only | Wrong hours, no booking link, or unclaimed |
| 2. Reviews | New Google reviews every week, every one answered | A few a month | None in 90 days, or no replies |
| 3. Booking | Book online in real time from phone, day or night | A request form | Phone only, during office hours |
| 4. Treatment pages | One page for each treatment you want more of | One “services” page listing all | No services described |
| 5. Facts AI can quote | Insurance, CDCP, languages, parking, emergency slots, all on your site | Some of them | None; patients must call to ask |
| 6. RCDSO wording | No superlatives, testimonials or incentives | One or two slips | “Best dentist”, review widgets or free offers |
Our free visibility check runs most of this for you in 2 minutes. The RCDSO wording check covers point 6.
What works for an independent clinic, and what to watch.
| Channel | What it does | Ontario watch-outs |
|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Decides whether you appear in the map results, where most local patients choose | Keep the description factual; no “best” or “leading” |
| Google reviews | The strongest trust signal patients see, and a ranking factor | Ask every patient, never offer anything in return, and never confirm someone is a patient when you reply |
| Website and booking | Turns a search into a booked visit, day or night | No testimonials or review widgets on your own site |
| Dental SEO | Ranks your treatment pages for searches like “dental implants Hamilton” | Page titles without superlatives; see dental SEO |
| AI answers | Gets your clinic named when patients ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI for a dentist | AI repeats facts, so publish accurate, checkable ones |
| Recall and email | Brings existing patients back for hygiene and treatment they postponed | Canada’s anti-spam law: consent, your address and an unsubscribe in every email |
| Paid ads | Buys visibility for a new clinic or a new service while SEO builds | No free offers, giveaways or “new patient specials” that act as incentives |
Proof, not praise.
The RCDSO does not allow testimonials, superlatives or incentives. That sounds limiting, but it points to what patients and AI tools actually respond to: specific, checkable facts. Read our plain-language guide to the RCDSO advertising rules.
- Instead of “The best dentist in Brampton”, say “General dentists in Brampton, open until 8 pm Tuesday to Thursday.”
- Instead of “Painless dentistry”, say which comfort options you offer, such as nitrous oxide or numbing gel before injections.
- Instead of “Free whitening for new patients”, publish a clear maximum fee for a new patient exam that applies to everyone, insured or not.
- Instead of quoting reviews on your site, link to your Google profile so patients read them there.
This is a plain-language summary, not legal advice.
Two services, one goal: more booked visits.

Dental marketing questions, answered.
What is dental marketing?
Dental marketing is everything that helps nearby patients find your clinic, trust it and book: your Google Business Profile and reviews, your website and online booking, treatment pages that rank in search, the facts AI assistants repeat about you, and recall reminders for existing patients. In Ontario it also has to follow RCDSO advertising guidance.
How much should a dental clinic spend on marketing?
Work backwards from patients, not a percentage. Decide how many new patients a month you want, what one new patient is worth to you in their first year, and what you can spend to win one. Our dental SEO cost guide shows the simple math. Our own plans run from CAD 590 to 1,590 a month.
Can dentists advertise offers or free consultations in Ontario?
The RCDSO’s guidance does not allow incentive programs, including giveaways, contests, draws or free products or services. You can advertise fees, if the fee is clearly the maximum, includes everything, and applies to every patient whether they have insurance or not. This is not legal advice; the RCDSO’s practice advisory service can confirm your wording.
Do you offer dental marketing in Toronto?
Yes. We work with independent clinics in Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Ottawa and across Ontario, by video.
Do you run Google Ads for dentists?
No. We focus on the work that keeps paying after you stop: your Google profile, reviews, website, booking and search rankings. If a new clinic needs ads while that builds, we will tell you what to ask an ads specialist and how to keep the ads within RCDSO guidance.
Are you a dental marketing agency?
We are a small studio that works only with independent dental clinics and professional practices. Each clinic works directly with the founder, and you own every account and page we create.
